I postured Nina Simone’s philosophy, The Artist’s Duty is To Reflect the Times, when I was awarded an $18,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts through the City of Phoenix in 2022 and with community hosted a community workshop, panel followed by a short film featuring the young people in our community.
